There were a variety of species, and i must say that i never imagined i could really see them live. The sea horses, the jellyfish, the sharks, the sea turtle and the little "nemo fish" were what i liked the most. If you visit the aquarium dont forget to go to the reception and ask for the device that explains the seings. You press the number you see under the window, on the devices keyboard, and you hear all about the fish you are watching and their environment. If you have kids they will really love it! At first when I arrived to Crete I wanted to leave as soon as possible. Only when returning to ferry, I took a day off and actually found Heraklion to be very much worth visiting. All those little shops in the old part of town (olive oil specials ;-) made my girlfriend crazy. And town is very green and clean. Heraklion is wonderful.
